Lake Lanier is the largest lake in Georgia with over 690 miles of shoreline and over 100 small islands.

open_water_400In 1996, Lake Lanier was host of the Olympic Games rowing competition.  Lake Lanier is world famous for fishing and sailing.  Aqualand Marina is the largest inland marina in the world.  Water skiing and jet skiing are popular activities on the lake.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers manages the shoreline of Lake Lanier to preserve and protect the lake’s environment and at the same time provides a balanced use of the lakeshore.  The corps operates 46 parks around the lake for boat launching, picnics, hiking and swimming.

browns_bridge_400Lake Lanier Islands is a 1,200 acre resort with campgrounds, an equestrian center and a breath taking lakeside golf course.  The Legacy Lodge offers hotel rooms, suites and lakeside villas.  The main attraction of the resort is the Lake Lanier Islands Beach and Waterpark where you can find waterslides, a wave pool, a beach, sand volleyball courts, paddle boats, miniature golf and restaurants.

Located just a short drive from the hustle and bustle of city life in Atlanta, Lake Lanier is the perfect destination for life outside the city without going too far.  The Mall of Georgia is the largest shopping center in the southeast and is only 10 minutes from the south end of the lake.

Lakefront property is available for as little as $150,000 ranging up to over $8 million.
